Glass stairs and their accessories.

Glass stairs and their accessories.

The increase in population in the cities led to an increase in construction at heights: constructions consisting of more than one plant. As a result, the stairs became increasingly used.

The increase in the use of ladders led to a redesign of them, seeking to differentiate in design, materials and functionality. Of the differentiation in materials, more specifically in glass stairs, let’s talk about the following.

On the one hand, it should be remembered that glass ladders need to meet a set of standards: resistance, safety and slipperiness. Therefore, they must be taken into account:

– The load that the glass will bear depending on its use, marked by the Technical Building Code (CTE).

– Breaking behaviour: CTE requires the use of safety glass.

– The CTE marks that it will depend on its use.

BRACKETS, ANCHORS AND OTHER ACCESSORIES.

Moving on to the part that most concerns us, referring to the supports, anchorages and other accessories that require these staircases, it should be noted that the glass will be anchored perimeter. The support must be at least 1.5 times the thickness of the glass.

In Aramar we have a large stock of all accessories for the correct assembly of a glass staircase:

On the one hand, we have handrail rods and tubes, designed to ensure that the passage through the infrastructure is safe and guided by these accessories. We also offer connectors and handrail fasteners.

On the other hand, we also have a variety of anchorages, both to the floor and the wall.

Thirdly, there are the fixing balusters, which are the elements that provide a vertical support for the staircase. In addition to securing the ladder, they serve a very important aesthetic function.
